Main Tabs GroupOverviewFormed: January 1, 1978Disbanded: January 1, 1979Tekosin was founded in 1978 after militants broke away from a Turkish leftist movement called Kurtulus. Tekosins founders felt Kurtulus did not adequately address the "Kurdish question," and created the group to merge leftist ideology with Kurdish nationalism. The group was most active around Dersim and Gaziantep where it drew support from Kurdish youth (including PKK members). In 1979, 50 high ranking PKK officials planned to abandon their group to join Tekosin; however, two of the leaders of this internal PKK faction were assassinated on the orders of the PKK leadership. Tekosin dissolved after these assassinations. OrganizationVertical Tabs StrategyVertical Tabs InteractionsVertical Tabs
