Revolutionary Action (AR) was Italy's primary anarchist terrorist group. It was organized loosely into "affinity groups" based on personal ties and ideological sympathy between members. Some of these groups embraced feminist objectives in addition to the group's core anarchist goals. Of the group's few attacks, most targeted Italy's major newspapers, especially the Turin daily "La Stampa," as part of a planned national campaign against the media's purported manipulation of public opinion. Like most of Italy's leftist terrorist groups, AR also targeted the center-right Christian Democrat party. After the group dissolved itself in 1981, some of its members joined Prima Linea.
