The PCDK is an affiliate of the PKK, PYD, and PJAK through the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK). The PCDK has not gained substantial political power, and the party currently holds no seats in the Iraqi Kurdish parliament or the Iraqi parliament. The PCDK is sustained by its relationship with the PKK, but it has little resources or support of its own. Under pressure from Turkey, the KDP has attempted to minimize PCDK influence.
