Islami-Jamiat-Taliba

Islami Jamiat Taliba (IJT) is the student wing of Pakistan's main political party Jamat-e-Islami. It came into being in 1947 as a student group to contend the influence of Marxist student groups on the university campuses of Pakistan. It has since then established a network of well structured organization on all university campuses across Pakistan. With significant political clout, IJT has been part of many national level protest movements and agitations. Its members have also been found to be connected with terrorist plots, and its organizational base continues to function as an active breeding ground for future Jihadis.
