Communists organized for Proletarian Liberation (COLP) was the larger of two groups to split from Prima Linea, the second-largest left-wing terrorist group in Italy. It had roughly 150 members and operated chiefly in Northern and Central Italy. COLP broke off when PL declined due to increasing arrests of its members. COLP aimed to free PL members and other left-wing militants from prison. It was the main successor to the PL after the PL itself dissolved, but it fell apart with the arrest of most of its members soon afterward.
