Communist Combat Units (UCC) formed from a split in the Armed Communist Formations (FCA) in 1976. It lasted longer and was larger than the earlier group. It was active primarily in Northern and Central Italy between the summers of 1976 and 1977. Its chief targets were small and medium-sized enterprises, which it blamed for exploiting workers. Beginning in 1977, the group began to split up; several members joined Prima Linea while others gave up their arms altogether.
